Originally opened in 1974 as The Pub by Eugene and Jane Giamarco, along with Lenny Rosol, a CV Railroad man, the bar quickly became a neighborhood staple. In 1975, Sherry Perry joined the team and soon took over ownership, renaming it the Ugly Broad Tavern. Since then, she has cultivated a warm atmosphere, transforming the bar into a safe space for many in a challenging area. Sherry’s dedication and hospitality have made her a cherished figure in the Denison neighborhood.* Sherry sold the bar and retired in 2025.
